Our High School Student Council has taken time to plan a fun week for Halloween! Next week will feature dress up days, a costume day, and a student/staff Volleyball Tournament. Students can find the instructions to sign up and play in the tournament in their emails, and if they're lucky, they may have the chance to face off against a staff team!

Exciting news! We’re holding a mock election to engage our secondary students in the voting process! All students will vote during school on election day (November 5th). This engaging activity is designed to teach them the importance of voting and how to express their opinions responsibly. By simulating a real election, students will gain valuable insights into civic responsibility and the power of their voices. Thank you for your support as we empower our young leaders!

Thank you so much to the Nelson's for letting the middle school and high school STEAM students pick pumpkins for their next project! It was such a great time and a perfect fall day!

Next Wednesday, 10/30, from 8:30-1:30 - NHS is sponsoring a blood drive through Vitalant! We currently have 38 of 46 spots filled. Scan the QR code or visit the Vitalant website to make your appointment.

The community is very welcome to join us for our annual Veterans Day Program on Monday, November 11th at 10 AM in the Lake Park High School theater! We will have wonderful music and many great speakers to help us recognize all Veterans of our Armed Forces. For those unable to attend, the event will also be livestreamed.

Last Friday a group of high school and middle school students volunteered at a Feed My Starving Children event in Detroit Lakes. We spent about an hour and a half packing food to be shipped all around the world. We battled against Detroit Lakes schools to pack the most food, and our LPA Students took home the trophy!!
We had a total of 112 volunteers from both schools who wanted to make a difference and give hope to starving children. In less than two hours we packed over 25,000 meals - enough to feed 68 kids one meal a day for a YEAR!
Thank you to all our wonderful students and teachers for attending and working so hard!

Middle school STEAM students worked hard for 2 weeks to create cardboard cutouts for Lake Park’s Pumpkin Fest this past weekend! The students were so excited for their projects to be put around town. This was their first big project and I am so proud of the hard work they put in with such a short deadline.
Thank you to everyone who sent in photos!

Some more highlights from this year's Day of Caring submitted by Alli Kelly
Day of Caring this year went very well. It brought people together and helped make good things happen in the community. Everyone felt proud of what they did and learned how important it is to help each other out. The event showed lots of nice things people did for each other, like raking leaves, cleaning windows and gardens, and cutting branches. People did different activities that made the world a better place by being kind and doing good things. Overall, Day of Caring showed how powerful it is when we all come together to help and support each other, making our community more collaborative and kind. We then ended the day playing a staff vs. student softball game. And kids also participated in yard games, face painting, sidewalk chalk contests, and many different board games.
