Our students were hard at work and having fun, from applying economics concepts to a competitive game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to using the scientific method to test how gummy bears react in different solutions. We're also celebrating our weekly winners for Leadership, Pride, and Achievement, and we loved seeing our students engage in a community visit with a local police officer.
It’s great to see so much learning, growth, and community spirit!

The second event of the season, on Big Cormorant Lake, started off wet and windy but turned out to be another evening full of hooksets! On June 26th, 27 boats from LPA, Rothsay, Perham and Hillcrest Lutheran hit the water. The LPA Raiders took 3 of the top 8 spots at this event, which was also the host event for LPA.
There was a three way tie for first, but Carter Poegel and Brock Anderson with their captain, Bernie Poegel, took 1st place. Lucas Keizer and Kaeson Mjoness with their captain, Andy Mjoness, took 2nd place. Austin Kelly and Grady North with their captain, Colby Poegel, took 4th place. Colby is a former LPA Raiders Fishing Team student angler who has joined the team in a boat captain role this year.
The remainder of teams all scored fish for the night, with a handful being a few points out of placing in the top 8. As mentioned, this was our host event. A big THANK YOU to the parents, boat captains and volunteers who were there to help with serving Walking Tacos and doing the boat valet service at the event!
