Dear Parents, In an effort to minimize four day school weeks, we had created this year's district calendar so that school resumed on January 2nd after winter break. We now realize that, according to MN state statute, if New Years falls on a Sunday, the following Monday must be a holiday for public employees. This includes our teachers and support staff. So that we may ensure LPA is following proper procedures, tomorrow, January 2nd, will be a no school day for staff, teachers, and students. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our new return date from winter break is Tuesday, January 3rd. We also currently have enough student contact days built into our calendar that this will not affect our school year.

To ensure the safety of our students and staff, we will have a two hour late start tomorrow, 12/16 so we have some daylight before everyone begins their travels. Thank you and be safe.

We will have a two hour late start tomorrow, 12/15. There is a possibility we will have no school depending on the incoming snow storm. I will make that call in the morning and if we close, it will be a virtual learning day. Please stay safe!

Dear Parents, Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, we will not have school tomorrow, 12/14. This is a regular school closure day and NOT a virtual learning day. Please stay safe! Dr. Godfrey

Dear Parents, Due to incoming severe winter weather, LPA will be closing early today, 12/13. Elementary will release at 1 p.m. and high school will release at 1:15 p.m. I will continue to survey the weather and weather announcements and will make a decision about tomorrow at a convenient time this evening. Please stay safe. Dr. Godfrey
