The cooler air has set in, this is just a reminder that LPA residents have access to the Cormorant Community Center. So invite a few friends and you can enjoy the walking track and weight room together. There are also Pilates & Yoga classes offered multiple times a week. The events calendar is available on their website and shows class times. Please spread the word and share this post. https://www.cormoranttownship.org/.

Next Wednesday, October 16th, is an early out. There will be no Raider Care after school. Elementary students will be released at 1:15 and high school students will be released at 1:30. We will also not have an extended stay for elementary students so they must ride the bus or be picked up at 1:15. Athletes who have practice or an event may stay at school.

Dear Parents, Due to the power outage in Lake Park, we will be returning cell phones to secondary school students so we can alleviate any concerns you may have in contacting your child in the event of an emergency. We do ask that if you need to contact your child, please text first and try to keep conversations to a minimum. Thank you, Dr. Godfrey

Lake Park Utilities has decided to undergo unplanned power outages this week. Unfortunately, the district was not informed. Today we were able to manage serving our students but may encounter further outages throughout the week. If you have concerns, please call city utilities and issue those concerns.

This is a reminder buses will only run one route during early outs. When students are released at 1:15 p.m.(elementary) and 1:30 p.m. (high school), buses will transport students home. We will have supervision at the elementary for any students not riding at that time. If parents do not pick up their elementary student by 3:20 p.m., the student will need to attend Raider Care. Please be advised that there is a cost for this service. High school students will not have the option to stay later than 1:30. Our first early out is this Wednesday.

After touring the remaining construction at the elementary school building this morning, I’ve made the decision to delay the start of school for elementary by one week. The new “first day” of the school year for elementary will be Monday, September 9th. High school will start on September 3rd as planned. This advance message will give parents time to make accommodations for supervision of their children during the those four days, September 3-6. ICS has been extremely supportive and helpful to us through this entire process and we value their partnership. Thank you for your understanding and support. Our goal is to always provide a safe and enriching environment for your children.
