Back by popular demand from last year, the “Egg My Yard,” and “Egg My Classroom” event repeated with an even larger response this year. Sponsored by the Lake Park Audubon National Honor Society, the event is used to help fund the Spring Food Baskets for families in the LPA community. The group surpassed their goal in a little over one week of advertising.

“Transform a life, and your own,” is the Vitalant tagline for recruitment. The Lake Park Audubon National Honor Society accepted that challenge and hosted their bi-annual Spring Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 20th at the Lake Park Audubon High School Theater. At the blood drive, 50 people registered to donate, which resulted in 44 units of lifesaving blood, double red cells, RBC plasma, and plasma from our community. The efforts and support of the NHS and LPA Community is greatly appreciated. “Thanks again for reserving the location, helping to recruit volunteers and donors and letting them know how important it is to donate. We would not be able to save lives without you or your students. ” stated Donor Recruitment Representative Alyssa Hagedorn. The LPA NHS plans to sponsor another blood drive in the Fall of 2022. If you are able to, we always welcome new donors. Fifteen of the 50 participants were first time donors. Approximately half of the nation's blood supply is collected at blood drives like the one hosted by the NHS. LPA NHS Members: Mya Rosing, Carter Minske, Whitney Mikkelsen and Kiara Gullard help to facilitate the registration table at the NHS Blood Drive.
