"On Saturday, September 9th, the LPA Raiders Fishing Team took part in the Heart O Lakes Championship. There were 15 schools that participated where each team could pick the lake they wanted to fish. 3 fish from the each of the following species could be scored - bluegill, crappie, walleye, northern pike and bass. A full scorecard would mean 15 fish scored. The league uses a length to point system in a catch, photo and release format.
LPA chose to fish Big Cormorant Lake. The student anglers were - Tyson Nerdahl, Colby Poegel, Michael Blahut, Lucas Keizer, Isaac Current, Carson Ullrich, Addison Welter, and Isaac Wachsmuth. Boat captains were - Bernie Poegel, Jon Ullrich and Andy Mjoness.
All student anglers, and their captains caught fish to put on the scorecard. The only species that wasn't scored was crappie. Tyson and Lucas had walleyes of 25-3/4" and 23". Isaac Wachsmuth, Addison and Lucas scored the pike, with Isaac and Lucas catching pike at 30" and 30-3/4". Tyson and Michael had smallmouth bass between 17" and 18-1/4". Tyson and Addison scored sunfish between 9-1/4" and 10".
With these fish, the team from LPA was able to bring home a 3rd place finish with 49 total points! Great job by the student anglers and captains!
Overall we had a great season where we saw 10 teams place in the top 8 over 4 regular events. Aiden Shea also got "Angler of the Year" in the Jr. High division of our pod, which consisted of LPA, Hawley, Barnesville and DGF.
Thanks for a great season,
Coach Keizer"

The Community Education Council must expand, The future of the Lake Park Audubon Community Education relies on it. This Advisory Council's jobs include planning, figuring out what people need and what resources are available, making programs, handling public relations and finances, and promoting teamwork and partnerships.
Members of the Council will be expected to attend meetings, reflect the community in terms of education, think about the needs and concerns of the community, share them with the Council, and talk about them. Other important tasks would include telling Council members about problems that come up and being a leader within the Council. Lastly, Community Education should offer new ideas and encourage people to take part in its processes and programs.
If you want to help make our community better and would like to join this group, send an email to rhowery@lpa.k12.mn.us.

Over the past 8 years, our district has lost 40+ teachers and staff members, often to neighboring districts that offer higher wages.
On Nov. 7, Lake Park Audubon district voters will consider a referendum that would allow our district to improve salaries for our teachers and staff, helping to maintain small class sizes and enhance educational opportunities for all students. 📚

Dear Parents,
This is a reminder that the first serving of breakfast and lunch for all students at LPA is free this year. However, seconds are charged at $1.25 each. Students will not be able to get seconds unless there are funds in their lunch accounts. If you would like your child to have seconds, you can still deposit money in their accounts online or through the office. Please discuss this with your children so they are prepared.
Thank you!

Hello Raider Nation
My name is Matt Jensen, my first day Transportation Director here at Lake Park Audubon School District #2889 was June 26, 2023. I live just outside of Ogema with my wife and five children. I have been involved in the school bus industry for 9 years, 5 of those years were spent as Transportation Coordinator with the Circle of Life Academy in White Earth. I am excited for the opportunity to build the transportation department into one of the best in Minnesota. I’m thankful for the support I have received from the school board, administration, staff, and the ever-important school bus drivers who are the heartbeat of our department. I look forward to meeting the students, families and community members. If you have any questions or needs about school transportation, feel free to contact me via email at transportation@lpa.k12.mn.us or call me at 218-238-5657.

It is once again that time... Please complete the registration form for the Bus Route SIGN UP. Kindly complete the enclosed form expeditiously to facilitate the organization of routes by our recently appointed Transportation Director.

The Literacy Academy accomplished significant achievements during Summer #5. A total of 114 pupils, ranging from grades 4 to 8, were enrolled in a K-12 school with a student population of 700. Dedicated educators devoted part of their summer break to assist kids in their summer learning endeavors. Additionally, a group of seven high school students selflessly volunteered as literacy leaders. The bus drivers resumed their duties to ensure the transportation of students, while the kitchen staff diligently prepared meals. In addition, the custodians played a crucial role in moving numerous book boxes. Free bus rides, food (breakfast and lunch), and free books all help make summer learning accessible for everyone. The crew at LPA is just remarkable. We appreciate your year-round commitment to the education of the youngsters.
