ANNOUNCEMENTS 10/13/2020

  • SENIORS: IF you ordered clothing items from Jostens, other than the cap/gown/tassel, please come to Mrs. Hogie's room during Advisor Time or before school to pick up your items. Thank you. CJH

  • Congratulations to the 2020 Homecoming Royalty Candidates. King candidates: Zack Cole, Zeb Lewis, Korey Smigelsky, and Jon Stone. Queen candidates: Ashley Fullerton, Jenna Gehrig, Chloe How, and Hailey Olson. Junior Escorts are: Brynn Stalberger, Madison Thompson, Christian Hanson, and Xavier Strehlow.

a. Homecoming coronation will be Tuesday, October 20th at 1pm . Only students involved in coronation will be able to attend. Family members of candidates and escorts may attend if wearing masks and socially distancing from other families.

  • October is College Knowledge Month: Many Minnesota Colleges and Universities offer free applications throughout the year OR during the month of October. A list of eligible institutions has been emailed to seniors. The list can also be found online at: www.ohe.state.mn.us . Any student that applies to an MState campus, stop by the Counseling Office for some MState swag.

  • Caulfields will be here on Wednesday, October 14th for staff & student school pictures. Order forms will be handed out during Advisor Time this week. Please make sure and bring your order form home with you for your parents to fill out and bring back the day of the pictures. If you will not be in school on the 14th there will be a makeup date to be announced later.

  • Attention 7th and 8th graders interested in Knowledge Bowl! We will be having an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 20th at 3:30 pm , in Mrs. Vickmark's room. This will be a time to ask any questions you have, as well as get more information about what Knowledge Bowl will look like this year.

  • Concordia College - Moorhead - is offering a virtual visit on Tuesday, October 20th at 9:30am for any interested students. Please let the Counseling office know if you'd like the link to attend!

  • HomeComing Week will be October 19th - 23rd.

a. Decorating deadline: Wednesday, October 14th at the end of school.

b. HomeComing Dress Up Days:

● Terrifying Tuesday (costumes, no weapons or costumes that restrict identifying who you are)

● Redneck Wednesday (flannel, hunting, cowboy,)

● Throwback Thursday (70’s, other decades)

● Raider Pride Day Friday

Dress Up Days attire needs to be appropriate or you will have to change.

c. Hallway Decorating for HomeComing week . Themes include Halloween themes and are as follows:

  • Raider Care needs a student helper! Hours are immediately after school to 6 pm Fridays. Pay is $12.61/hour. Great experience working with great kids! Email Shanna Bach sbach@lpa.k12.mn.us or stop by the High School office if you are interested!

  • Yesterday we had a great showing at the Cross Country Meet. Taylor Johnson, Taytum Nelson, Beth Schauer and Ellen Schauer made ALL CONFERENCE . Way to go LPA Cross Country . We are proud of you, and the entire team for a great season.

  • Any student that was not able to take or finish the survey that was shared with them yesterday, please log into your email and take it when you have a moment today.

  • Junior High Football Players (7th/8th) will be dismissed from 8th period at 2:45 on Thursday, October 8th . The bus will be leaving at 3:00. Players: Make arrangements with your teachers beforehand.

  • Friday, October 9th menu change: Pizza Buffet .Various sliced pizza selections instead of Cheesy Bread. Also next week Salad will continue to be Sweet and Crunchy. Homecoming Week Salad offering will be Southwest Chicken.

  • Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams for winning the meet overall yesterday in Wadena. We also had great showings by Taytum Nelson and Korey Smigelsky for placing 2nd in their races . Overall our team has had an outstanding season breaking personal records week after week. Be sure to congratulate all the runners on a job well done, What a great team effort and showing this year! GO RAIDERS!
