November Elementary Newsletter

Winter is Coming

Thank you for your flexibility on Grandparents Day. Although the setting and format were not expected, we hope our actions reflected our dedication to your student(s) to ensure LPA Elementary is a great place to be a kid! We are fortunate to be part of larger communities that always show up to support us and are quick to share kind words and gratefulness. We will look to find additional opportunities to open our classrooms to guests from our communities to show off all the great work happening in the building.

Speaking of the building, the school owned home is officially demolished. Earthwork has started for our 9 classroom, 2 story addition, that will be built during this school year. The addition will be finished and ready for students to move in next fall while we demo and upgrade other parts of the building.

Now that the leaves have fallen, please share the importance of dressing warm with your student at home. Students will be outside for 30+ minutes each afternoon. If they were cold walking to the bus or car, they will be cold playing out at recess. It’s always easier to have fun when you’re dressed warmly. If you need any winter gear, we have gear at school for your student. Please contact the elementary office with any needs. Snow days will be made up with Snow Day Folders again this year instead of adding days to the end of the year. Materials will be able to be completed on your own schedule, without live attendance requirements.
