We are excited to fill our hallways once again with students and families as we start another school year at LPA! We invite all families to join us during the Elementary Open House on Wednesday, August 31st. Based on your feedback we will continue with timeslots for families to sign for. We have increase each timeslot to accommodate two families for more signup flexibility. The elementary office will be open Monday-Thursday until school starts to register new students and to prepare for the coming school year. We would be happy to give new families or community members a tour of the building and grounds.
As always there will be a couple small changes you may notice with the new school year. Parent pickup at the end of the day will continue to be coordinated through Remind to ensure the safety off all students. Students will be walked out to families in the parking lot starting at 3:05pm. Parent drop-off will also be limited to the front vestibule area in the morning to improve safety practices.
We plan to build off of our career exploration field trips last year to provide each student in our school an opportunity to explore a different career out in our community this coming school year. Thank you to the business that have partnered with us already!
The most noticeable change over the next two years will be our building project. This year you will see the two story, 9 classroom addition, go up where the greenhouse currently sits over the course of the year. This fall the greenhouse will be moved over by the nature area and the school owned house demolished in preparation for groundwork to begin in September.
Together we can reach the community’s mission to prepare students with the academic, social, and life skills to succeed in a changing world.
